ProTech RCS1105 Scapegoat Compact-Auto

The ProTech RCS1105 Scapegoat Compact-Auto is a collaboration between ProTech and renowned knife designer Ramon Chavez of Chaves Knives, the Scapegoat Compact takes everything people love about the traditional Scapegoat and distills it into a more compact, carry friendly package, without sacrificing attitude or performance. The handle is carbide textured black aluminum, delivering a perfect balance of strength, light weight, and durability. Pro-Tech’s signature push button automatic action fires the blade with authority and reliability, providing smooth, confident deployment every time. Blasted finish hardware and a black finish deep carry pocket clip completes the handle design. The clip point style blade is CPM- MagnaMax steel with stonewash finish. NOTE: Blade (Front Side) is marked “MagnaMax”.

CPM-MagnaMax is considered a “next-generation” stainless steel, designed to bridge the gap between high-wear, non-stainless tool steels and high-performance stainless steels, offering a unique combination of properties. It’s an evolution from the well-regarded MagnaCut. Features roughly double the carbide volume of MagnaCut, leading to exceptional edge retention that competes with or exceeds steels like S110V. MagnaMax maintains excellent corrosion resistance, showing superior performance to M390 and S110V in tests. While it does not match the extreme toughness of MagnaCut, it is highly durable for a high-wear steel, offering better toughness than many traditional high-wear steels. Designed with a refined, fine carbide structure (vanadium and niobium carbides) for optimal balance. MagnaMax is best suited for applications requiring high edge retention, such as folding knives and high-performance kitchen cutlery.
