ProTech LG405 SBR (Short Blade Rockeye)

The ProTech LG405 SBR (Short Blade Rockeye) is a stout Les George automatic design, and is a smaller version of the popular Rockeye model. This scaled down design provides the utility of the classic Rockeye design in a streamlined EDC format. This SBR model has a black anodized aluminum handle with machine texturing (knurling). The drop point type blade is CPM-S35VN steel with a stonewash/satin finish. The hardware has a blasted finish. This ProTech SBR features a black finish stainless steel deep carry pocket clip, and thumb rest jimping with an ergonomic choil that allows for a high performance grip.

CPM-S35VN Steel: CPM S35VN is a quality stainless steel from Crucible Industries. Despite the high level of toughness in this steel, which usually diminishes a steel’s wear resistance, this steel does not lose out on a superior resistance to wear and chipping. Combined with carbon, the niobium carbides make the steel more effective in providing resistance to wear and edge chipping than if it were more dependent on chromium, which is the case with many other steels. The resulting edge holding ability of this steel is remarkable, ensuring S35VN steel to be a long lasting one.
