Microtech 232-15 UTX-85

The Microtech 232-15 UTX-85 has been updated and refined over the previous UTX-85 models from years ago. It features improved ergonomics, with rounded handle faces, and patches of grooves along the sides to ensure excellent grip. The firing button has been redesigned to increase surface contact for effective engagement, and the glass breaker has a ball-tip set in the trip-angle pattern base to increase its everyday carry manners. This UTX-85 model has a double edge dagger (fully serrated) Bohler M390 or Carpenter CTS-204P steel blade with a bronze finish. The 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum handle has an anodized black finish, and is outfitted with bronze finish hardware, pocket clip, and glass breaker tip that matches the blade finish. The UTX-85 gets its name because it is 85 percent the size of the Microtech’s Ultratech model, and is an excellent option for those who prefer a smaller OTF auto knife. Note: Current models can have either a Bohler M390 steel or a Carpenter CTS-204P steel blade.

Carpenter CTS-204P Steel: CTS-204P is made by the USA-based Carpenter Technology Corporation. The unique combination of wear resistance, toughness, polish ability and corrosion resistance makes CTS 204P an excellent choice for knife blades. CTS-204P fine grained alloy is a popular choice for high end folders and small fixed blades with a working hardness up to 62HRC. It exhibits excellent performance with both, coarse and high polished edges.

Bohler M390 Steel: Bohler M390 is widely revered as being one of the best all-around knife steels, which has led top companies, and makers to widely utilize it in higher end knives. Bohler M390 exhibits excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance, and high level toughness.
