Microtech 142-3CCS Combat Troodon-Coyote Camo

The Microtech 142-3CCS Combat Troodon-Coyote Camo (Signature Series Model) out the front automatic knife is a really large version of the popular Troodon model, and is Microtech’s largest double action out-the-front (OTF). It is named after the Troodon dinosaur. Built for a variety of utility, and close quarter combat situations, the Combat Troodon is a favorite among law enforcement, military and first responder personnel. The substantial feel makes it suitable for hard-use, while the benefits of an automatic OTF make it a great choice for everyday carry.  This Combat Troodon features Bohler M390 or Carpenter CTS-204P steel double edge dagger blade (Coyote Camo Finish) with the bottom edge having a plain/standard edge (no serrations), and the top edge being fully serrated. This Combat Troodon model features Microtech’s Coyote Camo anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle, pocket clip, glass breaker, and hardware.

Bohler M390 Steel: Bohler M390 stainless steel is one of the recent wave of “super steels” heralded by knife makers all over the world. It has characteristics of high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance. This means you’re going to get a very fine edge that retains it sharpness even through hard use, with little to no patina. Introduced and manufactured by Bohler-Uddeholm, M390 is a powdered steel. Bohler’s specifications claim a Rockwell hardness of 60 – 62HRC, putting it in the higher echelon of stainless knife steels. M390 is called a “micro clean” steel and takes a mirror finish very well.

Carpenter CTS-204P Steel: CTS-204P is made by the USA-based Carpenter Technology Corporation. The unique combination of wear resistance, toughness, polish ability and corrosion resistance makes CTS 204P an excellent choice for knife blades. CTS-204P fine grained alloy is a popular choice for high end folders and small fixed blades with a working hardness up to 62HRC. It exhibits excellent performance with both, coarse and high polished edges.
