Microtech 138-10 Troodon-SW Dagger

The Microtech 138-10 Troodon-SW Dagger is Microtech’s regular sized Troodon model. Named after the Troodon dinosaur, this knife was Microtech’s 2006 flagship out-the-front knife. The Troodon handles are black anodized T-6 aluminum with grooves for added grip-ability. The double edged dagger style blade is Bohler M390,Carpenter CTS-204P or Carpenter CTS-XHP steel (plain edges) with a stonewash finished. Features bbead blast finish hardware, pocket clip, and glass breaker.

Bohler M390 Steel: Bohler M390 stainless steel is one of the recent wave of “super steels” heralded by knife makers all over the world. It has characteristics of high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance. This means you’re going to get a very fine edge that retains it sharpness even through hard use, with little to no patina. Introduced and manufactured by Bohler-Uddeholm, M390 is a powdered steel. Bohler’s specifications claim a Rockwell hardness of 60 – 62HRC, putting it in the higher echelon of stainless knife steels. M390 is called a “micro clean” steel and takes a mirror finish very well.

Carpenter CTS-204P Steel: CTS-204P is made by the USA-based Carpenter Technology Corporation. The unique combination of wear resistance, toughness, polish ability and corrosion resistance makes CTS 204P an excellent choice for knife blades. CTS-204P fine grained alloy is a popular choice for high end folders and small fixed blades with a working hardness up to 62HRC. It exhibits excellent performance with both, coarse and high polished edges.

Carpenter CTS-XHP Steel: Carpenter CTS-XHP is a powder metallurgy stainless steel high in Carbon and Chromium. It’s used for the knife industry, surgery tools, high-end Cutlery, it’s known to be the High Hardness 440C or the high Corrosion Resistance D2 tool steel.
