Microtech 1280-1NC Scarab II-Gen III

The Microtech 1280-1NC Scarab II-Gen III features Microtech’s new Dual Fuel drive train that makes blade deployment and retraction super smooth. The super strong double spring system is powerful enough to fire the blade underwater. Contributing to the smooth action is the milling in the thumb slide cut-out; affectionately dubbed the “Crud Cutter,” it reduces friction while breaking apart lint and other debris to facilitate consistent, effortless operation. The Scarab II’s handle (Natural Clear Finish) has chamfered edges set with 3M inlays, which enhance grip purchase without tearing apart your hand or pocket. Incorporates black finish torx hardware, and a reversible tip down pocket clip (black finish).  The D/E Dagger style blade is Bohler M390MK steel with a black finish.

Bohler M390MK Steel: Bohler M390MK is an exclusive steel to Microtech Knives through Bohler. Microtech worked closely with the engineers at Bohler to tweak the properties of M390 for better edge retention, corrosion resistance, and polishing. It has a more controlled and higher carbon content which lends itself to more consistent heat treat and a few other advantages. It’s still M390, with tweaked carbon content modifications.
