Microtech 123-1OD OD Green Ultratech

The Microtech 123-1OD OD Green Ultratech features a tanto blade that has a plain edge. The Black finished blade is Bohler M390 or CTS-204P stainless steel. The OD green anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle features a black finished pocket clip, glass breaker, and black stainless steel hardware. Microtech equipped this Ultratech D/A OTF knife with a smooth, contoured handle (chassis) design that promotes increased comfort during use. This updated model provides the same dimensions, hardware, and durability offered in the “Tri-Grip” models, but it is easier on the hands, and pant pockets. NOTE: Pictures show an Elmax steel blade. Current models have Bohler M390 or Carpenter CTS-204P steel blades.

Bohler M390 Steel: Bohler M390 stainless steel is one of the recent wave of “super steels” heralded by knife makers all over the world. It has characteristics of high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance. This means you’re going to get a very fine edge that retains it sharpness even through hard use, with little to no patina. Introduced and manufactured by Bohler-Uddeholm, M390 is a powdered steel. Bohler’s specifications claim a Rockwell hardness of 60 – 62HRC, putting it in the higher echelon of stainless knife steels. M390 is called a “micro clean” steel and takes a mirror finish very well.

Carpenter CTS-204P Steel: CTS-204P is made by the USA-based Carpenter Technology Corporation. The unique combination of wear resistance, toughness, polish ability and corrosion resistance makes CTS 204P an excellent choice for knife blades. CTS-204P fine grained alloy is a popular choice for high end folders and small fixed blades with a working hardness up to 62HRC. It exhibits excellent performance with both, coarse and high polished edges.
