Hinderer XM-18 3.5 Spanto S45VN – Red G-10

The Hinderer XM-18 3.5 Spanto S45VN – Red G-10 is the combination of over 25 years of old world knife making craftsmanship combined with modern 3D design and CNC technology. The result is a folder that performs like a fixed blade and has become one of the benchmarks in the hard use folder category. This XM-18 has a 3.5″ Spanto blade (CPM-S45VN steel) with a stonewash Finish. The front handle is textured red G-10 that provides a dependable grip. The titanium framelock side features the patented Hinderer Lockbar Stabilizer (LBS) which prevents over torquing of the lockbar which can happen under stress. The titanium framelock side has Hinderer’s stonewash finish.

CPM-S45VN Steel: CPM-S45VN is the latest evolution of a high alloy powder stainless steel from Crucible Industries. There are three significant things to know about S45VN steel: it has high vanadium content for very tough carbides (edge retention), it has high chromium for increased corrosion resistance, and niobium content for a cleaner grind/machinability. Hardness can be achieved in the 63-64 Rc range. The properties for S45VN make it an outstanding blade steel for high-end folding knives.

This is a Gen 6 model with Hinderer’s new Tri-Way pivot system which allows you to configure your XM-18 further than ever before! The system lets the end-user configure their knife’s pivot system to their own personal preference, with choice of bearing, teflon washers or bronze phosphor washers. Simply disassemble the knife, and install whichever option suits your needs!
