The Benchmade 537GY Bailout is a lightweight, slim, and pocket friendly tactical folder that weighs in at just 2.0 ounces. The black Grivory (High Impact Polymer) handles have great ergonomics, and grip. The tanto style blade is tough CPM-3V steel that provides a tough cutting edge with excellent retention. The CPM-3V blade has a gray Cerakote finish. An extended aluminum pommel lanyard slot, and a reversible deep carry pocket clip complete the package. CPM-3V Steel: CPM-3V steel is bred for toughness. It is an American powdered steel made by Crucible Industries in Syracuse, New York. It is used in situations where tool breakage by impact is a concern. CPM-3V is one of the newer “super steel’s” that utilize the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process. This is designed to provide maximum resistance to breakage and chipping in a highly wear-resistant and shock-resistant steel. CPM-3V is NOT a stainless steel, you will be required to take care of it as such.
